Le Journal | January'25 — Le Reset Issue
January in review—what I’ve been using, loving, and learning.
And just like that, the first chapter of 2025 is complete. I feel like I say this every month, but this one truly flew by. Time, in general, feels like it’s slipping through my fingers, which is why I find it so important to pause, reflect, and savour the moments—both big and small.
That’s why I’m starting this monthly series, Le Journal—a way to capture everything that happened, what I loved, what I learned, and the little moments that made this month special. Think of it as a personal diary, not just for me to look back on, but something for you to enjoy as well—a space to share inspiration, discoveries, and reflections.
I’ll be sharing this at the end of each month as an addition to my weekly newsletter. I hope you enjoy it, and I’d love for you to subscribe and join the conversation in the comments so we can stay connected.
January felt exactly as January should—a reset button after a season of indulgence. The holidays were filled with abundance—food, gifts, celebrations—and by the time the new year arrived, both my body and my wallet were craving a break. This month felt like a quiet yet powerful reset—one of those transitions where nothing outwardly drastic changes, yet somehow, I already feel like a new version of myself. It was a time for grounding, refining routines, and embracing a slower pace before the energy of the year inevitably picks up.
Like many of us, I started the year with a vision board and a list of intentions. At the top of mine? Getting into the best shape of my life and truly prioritizing self-care—not just in fleeting moments, but in a way that supports my body’s health and well-being long-term. I wanted to cultivate routines that would nourish me from the inside out—practices that, over time, would lead to stronger, healthier hair, glowing skin, and an overall sense of vitality. A foundation that wouldn’t just serve me now, but would carry me into my 30s feeling like my absolute best self.
les petits plaisirs de janvier (the little pleasures of january)

New eyeglasses
I got new glasses—finally! I had been wearing the same Warby Parker frames for the past four years, even after renewing my prescription two years ago. This was the year I told myself I’d actually update both my prescription and my glasses, and I’m so glad I did.
I ended up finding the cutest pair—definitely out of my comfort zone. And yes, like everyone else, I tried on the trendy Miu Miu glasses, but I just couldn’t buy into the hype. They’re not as universally flattering as TikTok makes them seem (and, unfortunately, I was not one of the lucky ones). Instead, I landed on a pair of Versace gold wire-frame glasses—which, surprisingly, felt very me despite not being a brand I’d typically gravitate towards. They’re chic, understated, but still make a statement—exactly what I was looking for.
31 reformer pilates classes
On another note, I challenged myself to 31 reformer Pilates classes in January—one for every day of the month. At first, it felt borderline impossible. Between my 12-hour nursing shifts, exhaustion, and life in general, I wasn’t sure how I’d fit it in. But I made it work—doubling up on classes, squeezing in sessions between night shifts, and somehow, against all odds, I did it. I hit 31 classes, proved to myself that I could, and I’ve never felt stronger (or prouder).
Josie et Moi photoshoot
I had an incredible photoshoot this month for the launch of Josie et Moi, and it was such a surreal moment. Seeing my planner being photographed—like a real, tangible product that brides would soon be holding in their hands and using—made everything feel so real. It was no longer just an idea; it was happening.
Discovering Substack
How could I forget? This was the month I started my Substack. I actually stumbled upon Substack after following these Parisian YouTubers
to their own blog. At first, I was just a reader, drawn in by their storytelling and the intimacy of the platform. I didn’t set out to start my own—at least, not consciously. But like most great ideas, I can’t pinpoint the exact moment it clicked. It was almost as if the idea was transmitted to me by the universe, and before I had time to overthink it, I just did it.réflexions & révélations (reflections & realizations)

Lesson 1: Reclaiming something valuable—whether a language, a habit, or a skill—is simply a matter of showing up again.
If you didn’t know, I’m half-French and grew up speaking both French and English at home. But somewhere along the way—when I switched to an English school—French slowly started to fade from my daily life. Without regular practice, my fluency began slipping, and now, as an adult, I seriously regret not continuing in a full French curriculum.
So, I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands and reclaim my French skills. I’ve been using apps like Duolingo and LingoLooper to rebuild my vocabulary and comprehension. That said, this month, I definitely fell off the wagon—I wasn’t as consistent as I’d hoped. Moving forward, I want to be more intentional and commit to at least 30 minutes a day of learning and practice. Time to get back on track!
Lesson 2: The process is just as important as the outcome, and real progress happens when you learn to enjoy both.
If you want to see transformative results (in any area of life) you need to establish routines and consistency. This lesson isn’t something to me, in fact, I always knew this. But I had lacked the discipline to maintain the consistency, to enjoy the process and stop obsessing about the end result (the how, the when). Lately, I’ve shifted my mindset. Instead of obsessing over when I’ll reach my goals, I’ve learned to trust the process and celebrate the small wins along the way. Showing up consistently—not just once or twice a month—has been a game-changer. Doing pilates regularly, taking my supplements daily, using my LED mask every night, and creating content across all my platforms—these daily habits may seem small, but they add up. And while I’m not at my goal yet, seeing my progress unfold has been just as rewarding.
coups de cœur (my monthly crushes)

French music
Lately, I’ve been deep in my French music era—not just for the vibe (which is immaculate) but because it’s seriously helping with my vocabulary. There’s something about hearing conversational pronunciation in a melodic way that just sticks. Bonus tip? Reading the lyrics while listening makes a huge difference. It’s basically passive language learning, but make it chic.
Parisian Vibes (YouTube Channel)
If you love all things Parisian fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, consider Parisian Vibes your new go-to. It’s a mix of French and English (subtitles always available), and honestly, it’s the closest thing to being in Paris without actually boarding a flight. A must-watch if you, too, romanticize your life.
Matcha love affair
I’ve always enjoyed a matcha latte here and there, but this month, I made the switch—replacing my second daily coffee with a matcha latte (slightly sweetened, of course). Why? Because sustained energy without the crash is elite, and the antioxidant benefits? A bonus. Will I ever fully replace my morning coffee? Probably not. But this is a love affair that’s here to stay.
Reformer pilates
If it wasn’t obvious from my 31 classes in January, I fell hard for pilates. I used to see working out as something I did purely to get from point A to point B. A box to check off, a task I had to do. Naturally, that mindset led to zero consistency and, unsurprisingly, zero real results.
Then pilates enters the chat. At first, I loved it for the aesthetic—you know, the chic matching sets and “clean girl” vibes. But quickly, it became something I genuinely loved. It changed the way I moved, the way I felt, the way I showed up for myself. My biggest advice? Find an exercise that feels like a daily indulgence instead of a chore.
And yes, I fully acknowledge that being able to go to Pilates as often as I do is a luxury. The unlimited monthly pass wasn’t cheap, but when I did the math, it cut my per-class cost by over 50%. To make it work, I made a trade—I canceled my Majesty’s Pleasure mani/pedi subscription (yes, the one with the glass of champagne) and chose to invest in my health instead. Best. Decision. Ever.
Shani Darden body reform treatment serum
I’ve been on the hunt for an effective body retinol—something that could smooth my skin and finally get rid of keratosis pilaris (KP) for good. Enter Shani Darden’s Body Reform Treatment Serum, a lightweight formula that works without the typical overpowering retinol scent. After just one month of consistent use, I’m already seeing a noticeable difference—less pigmentation, fewer bumps, and overall smoother skin on my arms and legs. This is one of those game-changing products that I never want to be without.
dans mon panier (in my basket & what I bought)

This month was supposed to be a no-spend month… emphasis on supposed to be. I made it exactly one week before breaking my streak. That said, most of my purchases were made in alignment with my goals—upgrading my supplements, investing in hair growth, and adding a few new workout pieces to keep me motivated. Justifiable, right?
Arrae Tone
Arrae just launched Tone, a creatine gummy supplement designed for women who want to build lean muscle, not bulk. Naturally, I was intrigued because I’m manifesting Miley Cyrus’ pilates arms. It’s way too soon to tell if it’s working, but I’ll report back in March or April—apparently, you need about three months of consistent use to see results.
H&M Move Activewear
I wanted to upgrade my workout wardrobe without dropping $$$ at Lululemon or Alo, and stumbled upon H&M Move—turns out, they have a whole activewear line that’s actually amazing. I was specifically hunting for mini flare leggings, and these ones did not disappoint. Buttery soft, great quality, and at a price that makes it a no-brainer.
Agent Nateur Holi (growth) 84
This literally just launched, and I hit “add to cart” as soon as the e-mail landed in my inbox. It’s like the universe (or Jena Covello, the founder of AN) was listening to my hair growth prayers because this came at the perfect time. It’s a spray that can be applied to wet or dry hair, packed with key hair growth ingredients, and is supposed to deliver noticeable results in 84 days. Naturally, I took my before photos, so expect a full side-by-side update soon.
Reformation Cashmere sweater
I’ve been on the hunt for a navy cashmere sweater—something timeless, effortless, and wearable across all seasons. Reformation delivered the perfect one—the ideal shape, just the right thickness, and already in heavy rotation. Like most things I’m obsessed with, I’m wearing it on repeat.
As for what I haven’t purchased yet but am definitely eyeing… let’s just say my “add to cart” section is looking very tempting. More on that next month.
Wellbel Women Supplement
A hair growth supplement that’s been on my radar for a while. Given my current mission for healthier, stronger hair, this feels like the perfect addition to my routine. It’s packed with biotin, saw palmetto, and other key ingredients designed to support thicker, shinier, and healthier hair from the inside out.
Loba pill organizer
Now that I have a full supplement rotation I take every day, I wanted a chic (and easier) way to stay on track. Enter Loba—a pill organizer that’s not only sleek but also smart. It lights up when it’s time to take your supplements, which is exactly the level of accountability I need. Plus, it has separate compartments for both morning and night routines, so everything stays organized. Because let’s be honest, a messy pill situation isn’t cute.
mon moodboard de février (february moodboard)

February is all about keeping the momentum going—sticking to routines, staying consistent with content creation across Instagram, YouTube, and Substack (a little self promotion — follow on my other platforms) and leaning into the version of myself I’ve been building. January was about resetting, laying the foundation. February? It’s about refining, strengthening, and finding joy in the process.
I’d also love to escape for a little ski trip. The last time I went skiing, I was still living in Vancouver, which feels like another lifetime ago. I’ve always loved the sport—the crisp air, the après-ski coziness, the way time slows down on the mountain—but somehow, I fell out of the habit. This year, I want to make it a tradition again, something I do every winter season, rather than letting years pass in between.
Beyond that, February is also about elevating the everyday. A month of indulging in simple luxuries—I want to read The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin, perfect my matcha ritual, and make little upgrades to my home.
What did you love and learn in January? What’s on your February moodboard? Let me know in the comments <3
Biz,
